Recently received some track I ordered from Japan, and was finally able to (mostly) complete the layout I'd been planning for quite a while now! It's my attempt at a recreation of a small section of two real lines in Tokyo, specifically the Keikyu Main Line from Kitashinagawa Station to Sengakuji Station passing through Shinagawa Station, and the Toei Asakusa Line from Sengakuji Station to Mita Station. These lines through run meaning most trains run onto the other line once they reach the end of one, although some Asakusa Line trains continue onto the branch to Magome rather than entering the Keikyu Line. In total this is about 2 miles of track in real life, and roughly perhaps 30 feet on my layout. Here's a map of the section I built, overlayed onto a real map of Tokyo:

openrailwaymap.org and haisenryakuzu.net, in addition to Google Maps and Street View, were my main sources for determining the track layout. While most of the layout was simply my interpretation of the track maps, the storage tracks just north of Shinagawa proved to be tricky, and so I ended up basing them off the recreation done by the participants of the Plarail Keikyu Driving Event 2020, shown in this video:

Now, a tour of the layout:

Starting off at Kitashinagawa, the southern end of the line. It's built from 4 J-28 stations and is adjacent to a loop. The siding is for storing maintenance equipment. I would have liked to have built further, but I had already reached the wall of the room.

Next are two crossings, where the line crosses Kyu-tokaido and Yatsuyama-dori streets. In the future I'd like to expand the road network on the other side of the crossings, in addition to adding more diecast cars, and perhaps some papercraft and Tomica Town buildings.

The tracks then cross the Yatsuyama Bridge over the JR Tokaido Mainline, which runs in a trench. I wasn't able to recreate this as it would have required raising a large portion of the layout and used many more risers than I have.

After the bridge is Shinagawa Station, complete with a pocket track for services that are not running into the subway to terminate at. Directly before the pocket track branches from the mainline, there is supposed to be a double crossover, however I haven't purchased any yet as they are no longer in production and difficult to find for a good price. Hopefully I'll be able to get some in the near future.

Here's Daiichikeihin Avenue, complete with Tomica cars. I'd like to place some Tomica Town and papercraft buildings to line the back side of the road and serve as a backdrop. I also need to finish adding sidewalks, I have a bunch in storage I need to find.

North of Shinagawa the line dives underground beneath a set of tail tracks used for storing and reversing trains. There is supposed to be another double crossover between the storage tracks directly after the switches, but of course I still need to buy and add that.

Now underground, the Keikyu Line joins the Asakusa Line via a flying junction. The Asakusa Line spur to Magome has been built, but only just enough to pass through the flying junction and then loop. In the future once I get more track I'd like to extend it and add Takanawadai and Gotanda stations.

Sengakuji is the first Asakusa Line station, and it's equipped with two island platforms. The website I ordered from didn't have enough station pieces in stock so I had to make them half length for now. After the station where the single crossover is currently located there are supposed to be two double crossovers to allow trains going to and from Magome to switch over to the other set of tracks, but again I still need to acquire these. The single crossovers are a good replacement but unfourtunatle I only have one extra thus rendering the Magome branch currently unusable.

North of Sengakuji the line enters a long straightaway(in real life it's a gentle curve) towards Mita.

Mita has one island platform, currently represented by a single older station piece. In real life, the Toei Oedo Line runs roughly where the red tile wall is.

After Mita, the line turns north towards Daimon, but is cut short by the wall of the room and a refrigerator.

Here's the rolling stock I've been running on the layout so far. From left to right: Toei 5500, Keikyu 1890 Sumikko Gurashi, Keisei 3100, Keikyu 2100 Blue Sky, Keikyu 1000, Keikyu 1000 Rilakkuma, Keikyu 2100, and Keikyu 1890. All run on the line in real life, although the 2100s never run north of Sengakuji. I've been able to get 7 trains running at one time by periodically stopping the faster ones at stations. The Keisei 3100 uses an older mechanism and is a good bit slower so it's deficiult to run it at the same time as multiple faster trains.

I plan to add to the layout with more scenery, adding in the crossovers and missing station pieces, and possibly even extending in the Magome direction. Hope you enjoyed this look at my layout!
