Avalanche Escape

My local Walmart has the Avalanche Escape on clearance for $30 USD. Is it worth it? I have not bought any of trackmaster before.

Since I own a lot of the trackmaster 2 range I'll state my opinion. It does only really work with the trackmaster 2 trains for this set. But it is a LOT of fun! It's one of my favorite sets for the trackmaster 2 range and for $30 I believe that is a great price to pay.

Can anyone tell me whether Trackmaster 2 engines that have had their activation tabs filed down to run to Trackmaster 1 track will work on this set?

yes they will still work on the hills as it's the wheels themselves that grip the track.

No, what I meant was do they work on Trackmaster 2 track that uses the activation tab? Or does filing the tab down make it too high? The Avalanche Escape set does use the activation tab, so will TM2 engines with filed down activation tabs still work on it?

I have yet to test that on trackmaster 2 but it activates tabs fine on TOMY track
