Fake Trackmaster James vs Real Trackmaster James

Today, I randomly thought of comparing two flat drive Jameses which are a bootleg one against a real genuine one from 2012-2014.
They will be both new in the box and I will compare them both, as I’m writing this i recently bought a bootleg James for this test. Also I will post updates on thread once the bootleg arrives. (P.S These James photos are from the web, yes it’s pointless to compare two James’s that look similar but why not)

Well if there’s one thing I noticed here is that knockoffs generally have those exact same side rods like a normal TrackMaster Thomas on all the models.

James also looks like he’s got a more transparent printing on his tender too.

Interesting but once i get the fake James on my hands I’ll compare it to the real 2012 James.

Recent update

I accidentally received another real 2012 James from the seller, i may have to postpone the comparison but at least i have another 2013 James new in box!😲
It looks like i have to source the fake from another seller.

It’s alright, I may have to get the fake James boxless since it’s cheaper that way.

Seems the flat drive unit James it’s the easiest TrackMaster to find New In Box. I saw another listing in Aliexpress selling for around 12 dollars, quite a good price.

Yeah, i know they’re pretty to find on aliexpress which i use but i have to deal with Australian prices for one engine. Which 12 usd is like $17.40 aud and i have other life expenses aswell.
