Weird differences between HiT Percy’s

I received this Percy in the mail today, differences I noticed are screw on smokebox and bigger windows. I’ve only seen this style Percy in a few listings on eBay which doesn’t make it rare, however it does intrigue me on what small changes they made in 2009 such as Thomases Chassis overhaul. first 2 pictures are mine, rest are from eBay listings with the normal windows

Found the origin. Looks like you’ve got a Toys R Us Percy from 2009. Now you just gotta look for that rolling stock.

I do wonder why they did make some slight changes. It feels like HiT was just starting to make their stickers and overall detailing better around this time, and if only they hadn’t been bought out by Mattel, I think we could’ve seen some insanely great detail from them without having to apply it ourselves.
