I was looking at my old Mercari likes and I found this in a lot that was sold a while back, this Thomas has no eye shine!!! I’ve seen two since then so I’m guessing this is a very late 2009 thing

yep!! you would be correct
ive actually seen a couple of these floating around, the most notable difference besides the missing eyeshines and the white footplate on the engine are the yellow buttons on the remote.

Double X I never knew Mattel released the white running board variant, this has to be a very early thing, as the remote and engine still have some remnants the hit era copyright info!!

But this also begs the question.. was Thomas the only Mattel RC engine that was also released with the white running board? Or did Percy and James get this treatment too?
