Suzukawa’s visit to the 2026 Tokyo Plarail Expo
At the 1:55 minute mark…is this something new we haven’t seen yet or did I miss it? Plarail ECO Selection Set

The ECO set was unveiled at the Tokyo Toy Show in August 2025. It is a prototype made out of alternative plastics and plastic substitutes, to demonstrate what might be done in the future. There are no plans to move from prototype to production.

I find it weird that they even went through the trouble of designing a box with all the parts of the set perfectly fitting for something they weren’t releasing.

Super The press release makes a big deal about the packaging being made out of ‘eco’ materials as well. OJI, the company that made it, has their own page about it. It just seems to boil down to a design that doesn’t use plastic bags or rubber bands.

It’s always nice to see Suzukawa at events like this!

We definitely have to mention the large section of the layout dedicated to Thomas & Friends trains; this clearly indicates that we can expect news in this area from Plarail.

I would also like to highlight “The Drawing Tunnel” (24:38) which children can use for drawing, but I think it would (without any drawing) fit really well for next season’s winter layout! 😁

Mister No The kids who play with my collection would love that tunnel. The surface seems so much better than the white 3D printed trams that they enjoy painting.
