Zwilling And East Eye's middle car mold was renewed shortly after so this means that the middle car has no cover and gimmicks. So it is manufactured for a very short time with a short production volume. It turns out that the gimmick middle car type was a set exclusive, never single item release.
TrainsRawesome Is it possible that the East Eye Clear Middle Car Cover did not come with any packaging and was instead just given out loose (since it is only a cover)?
violater No, every Plarail during that time has a JAN code and ST mark. This JAN code need to be stamped/printed on every registered Plarail product. There should be a card containing the product name, JAN code and the ST mark like how older Plarail packages were distributed. The card is also considered part of the packaging.
Super I have had a couple of the East Eye gimmick Middle cars and both had the regular White with red stripe color to match the front and rear engines. I sold them both off because I thought the gimmick was useless since you could not see it work as the train was running unless you ran it without its shell.
violater Thats where the clear cover comes in handy, but the problem is that you need to buy the set at a Japanese Toys R Us during the event period.
Zwilling This ^ I saw the cover before, it was quite a shock that the cover was not included in the set, but was a additional item given out. It is very tricky to get the packaging today, the card is small and I don't think children would salvage the card.
violater This is a sample of what the card might look like, blank behind. This card is for the Choppe Store Owner Plakid and it has a ST mark and JAN code, but other cards not for Plakids will have the product name. It is a 2004 card so predictions are 1 year apart.
Super I wish I would have known about the clear shell back then as I would.t have sold the middle cars I had. I always thought it odd that the gimmick was hidden from being seen. Good to know, thanks
violater You can check this out if you want, it is the same product: https://sea.ap.teacup.com/shao/325.html
NorthRailsYT Well! I Do Own A Capsule Plarail Chuggington Dunbar Which You Can see me Unboxing it On My Most Popular video 2:30 In. I somehow got it from TTT. But I only found one other video.
Zwilling I know some that can be added. 1987: 小田急ロマンスカーセット, 1 confirmed survivor. 1988: フラノエクスプレスセット, 2 confirmed survivors. 1988?: ザビッグレイアウト, less than 5 survivors. 1994: C-12トラベルパック, 2 confirmed survivors.
violater Going for the most forgotten ones Zwilling? I agree with your picks. The first 2 raises more questions than answers as the yellow EC set box type mysteriously came back, they are only Odakyu store and Hokkaido region specific releases respectively. How do you even remember those sets? The second 2 are one of the most forgotten ones, its not the internal products that are rare but rather the packaging.
Zwilling I go into darkest corners of the field, you know I do Vio. Is the set you recently bid one of the rarest?
violater ハイウェイぜんじどうふみきりセット, not really. There are quite a few survivors, but the ハイウェイふみきりステションセット is way rarer and it is a candidate for tough debate as previously stated. It is still a very rare set that peaked around 45 times its own original price before.
Zwilling Peak price of ハイウェイふみきりステションセット was 180000 yen and ハイウェイぜんじどうふみきりセット was 60000 yen. But don't forget that both sets have slightly different auto crossings.
