As happy as I am with the new Plarail trains (I love the new Percy and James), this set could have been done better. The set is not exactly “Thomas-esque” but more generic Plarail. It’s a variant of Plarail generic “Best Selection Set”.
The bridges are ok (I think the wobbly one is the suspension bridge, not the smaller one, which they also produce as a separate general Plarail element R-17, without flags or decorations), but the station and shed could have been better. Why didn’t they put Thomas’ Ffarquhar station, but a modern station that just contains the inscription “Ffarquhar”? And the shed looks more like Shinkansen sheds, and they could have, for example, taken a classic Thomas shed, e.g., the one from the Stanley set. With just a little more attention, this set could have been soooo much better.
But in any case, I’m glad that Plarail is serious about continuing the Thomas line. Actually, I was never too worried about it. Here is my “prophecy” from December 11, 2021:
