Ah. A classic story. I can do that, but what if Henry was still green? I would need to buy another Henry and paint him blue.
Yes, we got the set of books for Christmas and are reading them in order at bedtime 🙂 I'm learning so much, myself!
Oh, handle it however you want, you don't have to show it on screen. One of her favorite of the newer books has a single page where Henry is ill and has to visit the train doctor, it's just a setup to get Diesel onto the island but to her the book is a fantastic story about Henry being ill. Working within constraints like that ("how do I tell the story of being painted blue when I only have a green engine?") can be a great motivator: show the story of Henry doing a great job and getting told he can have his new coat of paint as a reward, or a story where he drives around trying to decide what color he wants to be.
