chrisjo Has anyone got one of these? If so, would you mind telling me her measurements? Length, width, and height, that is. I'm wondering if, with a bit of surgery, she could be motorised using a Tomy or TMR chassis? Anyone tried this already?
Super I don't have one but she does look nice and what a great idea. Is the picture from an Online listing where you could ask the seller for the measurements? Is that plastic or stamped metal?
sunhuntin a friend of mine got heaps of these for his nephew. i dont think he had this character specifically, but i believe it would be way too large for a tomy chassis. they are designed as toddler toys, so big and chunky for little hands. its a darn good idea though, a shame it wouldnt work. you may be able to get the chassis to fit, but she wouldnt make it under bridges etc.
ilovehotshot Thanks chrisjo for pointing out that I am missing one from my collection. Oh well, a hunting I will go.
chrisjo Thanks everyone that replied. That's another brilliant idea shot down! I would still like to know the actual dimensions though. I wonder if I could do a face transplant, or if that would be too big as well. ilovehotshot wrote Thanks chrisjo for pointing out that I am missing one from my collection. Oh well, a hunting I will go. If you have some of this series you can help me greatly by measuring the distance between the wheels on one axle on any of them. I assume they're all the same gauge, because they ran in tracks with a raised lip each side (like tomica/trackmaster road). From that I can estimate the rest.
ilovehotshot I will measure them as soon as I get home from work. I thought I had all of them but NO Daisy. Bummer.
Aresedale productions I found one here's a link http://www.ebay.com/itm/my-first-thomas-the-tank-engine-harold-topham-car-bertie-bus-sounds-cranky-/261876579621?var=&hash=item3cf90f7d25:m:mfma8ii9A_ZiyXEBevtXALg
ilovehotshot chrisjo, I hope this helps. Thenewduckthegwr engine, thanks for the tip on Daisy. I'm in the US and shipping is way too high. I'll keep looking.
chrisjo ilovehotshot wrote chrisjo, I hope this helps. You bet! As soon as I can get my metric brain around a tape marked in 1/32's of an inch, I'll be fine. 😉 Thanks a lot for taking the trouble.
ilovehotshot Sorry. If I find a metric ruler laying around, I will measure it again. Maybe this will help. Now you really started something. I am missing Billy, Rosie, Spencer, and Daisy that I have discovered so far. I'm on the hunt. Shipping is ridiculous to the US so it might be a while.
Super D.Brook looks to have quite a lot of the Golden Bear, My First Thomas engines and rolling stock with what I consider very reasonable shipping rates to the US from the UK.
