Thanks super
As you know I'm pretty fickle when it comes to hobbies! I go through phases, recently I've been going through a Radio Controlled phase, (probably why I'm a little quiet on here) Currently I have X11 hobby grade cars, (in working order)

And in the background I've been working on the 6x6 as a project. Unfortunatly it's not scratch built, I don't have the skills necessary to do the gears or the axles, so instead I used complete axle/motor combinations from a Tamiya midnight pumpkin
It started off as one of these

It was good on its own, but the more I looked at it, the more I thought I could improve it by adding extra wheels. So I did, I added a second driving axle behind the rearmost making it a 6x4

This was ok, but it wasn't ideal, it wasn't as fast as before, it didn't wheelie like before and it didn't climb overly well, also the chassis was a bit of a bodge - the rear axle fitted to a plate the joint wasn't very well thought out and itdidn't allow it to work very well.
To be honest after this, I sort of put this project on the side line for a bit, then earlier this year I decided to revisit it. I bought another axle to give me 6x6, I had to use another identical straight 'live' axle to give me a common drive ratios for the motors, unfortunatly they dont make axles like this with steering knuckles so I had to deal with steering a straight axle. I decided to try something like on a komatsu dumper truck, an articulated design

This was a bit trial and error for me as I didn't know if it would work or not, but the only way to find out is by doing it, right? So I made up a chassis, I used steel plates and welded them to make a solid frame,
The rear chassis

The front axle and front chassis

I cut some holes for the servos and made some temporary links up quickly

Because the axles were made for a specific chassis, they didn't have the right mounting points I needed, so I had to make these plates up so I could use a 4-link arrangement,

It starts coming together

things were ok but I had to make technical adjustments to get things sitting right,

About this point It had if its first run (the first video), it was only 6x4 as I was a motor short for the front axle, it ran pretty well considering.

And now

This is it as stands now, it has all the motors fitted and the electrics loosely fitted, the second video is in my mum and dads garden, it was a functional test before I got any more involved with it, really, it did rather well & I was pleasantly surprised, I've still got lots of work to do on it, but it may the moment it certainly looks like something worth spending my time on!
Thanks for your interest super, I don't usefully share my hobbies across different forums, but if you(& other people) are interested, I'more than happy to share!
