pokemon layout

my club had another open day today. i ran the big loader again, and put together a pokemon display. thought it would be fairly popular with the new game.

things mostly ran ok. a few issues with things getting stuck, especially on the big loader set. seems the base is sagging, so i need to work out a way to support it. thinking a lightweight but study cardboard box or something.

i need to get some more yellow straights. seems i only have 2, and i couldnt find one of them.

the large mountain is from jakks pacific and is genuine pokemon. the figures are from various makers, and the small mountain i think is matchbox or similar. it had to be raised up a little due to the shape of the tunnel. was just a smidgen too small.

Nice to get out the old Pokemon set there Sun, more importantly did you try 'Pokemon Go' to see if it had attracted any of the little monsters? 🙂

thanks, super. yes, i like trying to theme things, and it also means i have an excuse for buying stuff to use for that purpose. only issue is i have dozens of bags all mixed up and need to sort them out. one of the thrift shops here has a large bin of mcdonalds and other small toys and most of it comes out of there.

the open day and garage sale went well. not as great as last time, but the weather wasnt meant to be great, which i think kept most people at home. luckily, it held for most of the day.
hopefully we have enough to get the extension insulated and walled in.

Hey Sun,

I know I said I wasn't really interested in Pokemon, but I saw this; Pokemon Steamer and just had to get it. I've never seen one before so I don't know if its rare or not, but I thought it looked cool so dived in as it had a BIN on it 🙂

Believe it or not the train existed in real life, it was part of the "PokePark", a carnival esque travelling theme park in Japan:

I'd believe anything in Japan to be honest, they are an inventive people, looks like the PlaRail one I've just got is reasonably accurate as well which is nice - just have to find some carriages to go with it.

In some ways its a shame they didn't use this mould (minus the pokemon) for the recent Museum release as it looks far better in terms of proportions and the cow catcher etc... 🙂

You have a Pokemon train too Nigel? 😃. I won two sets, not sure why, but thy were cheap, so I figured, what the heck.

Yup I wasn't going to, but saw this train and just liked the look of it in a moment of weakness lol

Mind you this may have something to do with me having recently downloaded Pokemon Go to my phone :angel:
