Hello Everyone!
I chose Arch for my name because I am an Architect. After work I spend my time playing with my kids. When they are asleep I have time to research Plarail/Tomy/Tomica.
When I was a kid I loved model trains and had an extensive HO collection. My fascination carried on with my son and I collecting Brio. I love the simplicity and symmetry of these sets. Our layouts and cityscapes were great fun but it bothered me that they were limited to one or two tiers. I wanted to build higher! While browsing Brio on Pinterest I came across a photo of stacked blue tracks and yellow risers. I was drawn to the sharp colours, modular design and extensive layouts.
One year ago my family and I decided to leave our London home of 8 years and return to The States in order to be closer to family. It was shortly after this I started my collection by purchasing a Tomica Super Big Set. The collection has grown and now occupies three or four clear plastic bins. My wife is aware of my obsession but I like to keep her guessing exactly how many trains have amassed!
What started with Tomica and Plarail moved onto Tomy Trains and then Thomas and Trackmaster 1. I like fixing disabled motors and broken parts. I have designed a few custom engines which I look forward to sharing. We build layouts but have not displayed my dream layout which is ever evolving. I guess this will come when my kids grow older and less destructive!
I am so happy to have joined you likeminded individuals. I enjoy reading your posts and look forward to sharing more with you in time.

Oh, my. Good on you. What field of architecture are you in, and have you done any (real) transport related projects? If only a rail infrastructure worker would turn up and share some info, advice and whatnot. Would be cool to see how that amazing profession might play into a hobby like ours. If you still have any of the H0 trains, please show them when you get the chance. I tend to look down on Pinterest knowing its users tend to "take" content without permission/credit, so I'm surprised it brought Plarail to your attention. If the new Thomas Wooden Railway stuff is available/affordable there, you should add some of it to the BRIO if you haven't already. I always liked the road parts and clear tunnels like in that Super Big Set; they look better than the old track looking roads with kerbs for guides, though it's a shame motorised vehicles can't follow them. Your custom (TOMY?) locos sound very interesting, esp. if they're more than just repaints like we normally see.

P.S. I too once had the Vicarstown Dieselworks logo as an avatar on one of my socials (after seeing another user with it), albeit in lower quality.

Fantastic you decided to join up Arch. Your story is similar to what a lot of members here at BPT's have had entering this ~~addiction~~...er...hobby of ~~amassing~~...er...collecting these trains.

Unfortunately I do not have any railway or transport related experience. My projects have been commercial up until recently switching to residential. It sounds like we have a bit in common which is nice.

Hello everyone my name is Mitzalplik

I'm a introverted person, Thomas show fan and collector. I also talk to much for a person that prefers to keep to himself. I made my first intro in the Trackmaster forum talking about the difficulty of finding a HIT TOY Mighty Mac so I've met Super, Chrisjo, and Donald9Douglas10Oliver11mp already. I've been collecting and really creative with my tracks being inspired, of course, by different people on YouTube namely ucwepn, trakk konnekt, toy trains 4u, muddy poppins, Trackmaster productions 2016, Tons of Trackmaster, Trackmaster toy train village, many more that I forget right now. They have been invaluable in helping me collect and also elevate my creativity with my Trackmasters.

I'm proud to have amassed the collection I've garnered throughout the decade or more privately and i finally said to myself to go on this forum and talk to like minded people on this subject. I'm conservative by nature so it's difficult for me to talk about my achievements in collecting (or in general) without feeling boastful so I stay away from that feeling like the plague unless it comes up organically. But I WANT to share my experiences collecting, fixing/repairing, creating, and customizing my Trackmasters sets and or trains.

So I'm trying to take this step on coming out of my bubble to converse and contribute how I can (as a very late member I know lol). Thank you for reading. -Jay-
