DalaGStanator I found this upon a random image search: Does anyone have any idea where it came from? It's clearly TrackMaster 1 due to the size, connectors and gauge, but I can't ID it.
Nigels Looking at the definition on it and the colour I would say it is almost certainly output from a 3D printer...
Super Without some perspective, to me, it seems to be too small and there is the strange fact that the ends of the tracks seem to flare up unless thats an optical illusion and they flare out..
sinkillerj Seams to be a custom piece sold by a Amazon seller: https://www.amazon.com/Thomas-Train-Trackmaster-Cross-Track/dp/B00E259H5S
Super Good piece of detective work Killer. This seller is a member here at BPT and was making and selling the Black replacement couplers but I don't see them listed anymore on his Ebay site. He is a fine fellow. http://www.ebay.com/sch/smichonmoldmaker/m.html?_trksid=p3692
Super The question here would be if the seller created the piece or made a mold of an original to duplicate it....Mystery...ongoing 😃

Not to denounce highly skilled customizers with years of practice, but it looked far too professional to be homemade. It's extremely difficult to see any cuts or seams if it really is made of two normal pieces.
Ucwepn He would have cast the mold from real track pieces and then used that mold to make the piece seen above, this seller also makes black traction tires as well as the black couplers and is highly skilled.
