Tharazero1 Hi guys, Like I said at the start of this post I had something coming in the mail and it was a BNIB TOMY Motor Road and Rail James. It came in the mail today and I just wanted to show you guys a video of me unboxing it. Here is the link to the YouTube video or if you just want to search it up it is Tomy Motor Road and Rail BNIB James https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6a4bREumiKA There is also a thread were we were debating wether it was BNIB but I'm glad to say it is. Here is the link to that thread also https://www.blueplastictracks.com/showthread.php?tid=2536 Once I got all you reply's I just took the gamble and bought it. I made an offer of $25 and the seller accepted it so I got the price down $5 (almost the same price as it was new in store back in 2008) and when it came the box wasn't in the best of condition but it was still amazing. Also on the side of the box it only has the james pictured with the cattle van. I remember very well that my other two James' came with a black brakevan as well (one was from the giant Thomas set and the other was from a single package just like the one I bought). Could anyone help me with this as I just want to find out why this one didn't come with the black brake van. If you feel like watching it could you please like and comment on the video so I know that you have watched it P.S. Thankyou Tramp for getting all the links and making the photos show on my first post
Super Very nice buy for your collection Thara and thanks for the shout out to BPT's in your Video description. 🙂
Tharazero1 New Additions Today I went to Highpoint (shopping centre) and got some new additions to my collection. I got a Thomas adventures Special Edition Green Thomas and 3 Minis The minis that I got were 2 special edition thomas' (clear thomas) and one classic duck I opened one of the special edition thomas' and keeped one in the minis package and opened duck as well. Duck was from Wave 1 2017 and Special Edition Thomas was from Wave 2 2017. Duck is Mini number 111 and Special Edition Thomas is number 123. To check which mini you got just check on the back of the package and you should find a number which corresponds to the mini you get. Something that was very interesting is that I saw an adventures Frankie from the new movie and i still saw trackmaster 2 shooting star gordon and racing thomas but no flying Scotsman
Tharazero1 Super wrote Didn't know you are also collecting the Mini's too Thara Just going to collect the ones that I'll think will fetch a premium in the coming years like the metallics, platinum thomas (silver thomas) and the special edition thomas. These are the only three I have so far but I want to get all the metallics and platinum thomas
Tharazero1 NEW ADDITION today I went to big w (Australian equivalent of Walmart) and got an adventures oliver. This train will stay in its box like my adventures original Thomas. The train has very nice detail except the cab. Like on every model of oliver (tomy, take n play, adventures etc) the cap has not been raised high enough to give the train the right proportions to the television series model and the real GWR 14xx that oliver is based on. It also has his 3 wheels all the same size, not like on the take n play where is rear wheel is smaller than the two front wheels. Other than that I am happy with my purchase.
Tharazero1 Don't know if you can call it a new edition but I just got a soldering iron kit. I got it from ALDI (Ucwepn will know what Aldi is) for a very low price of $13. I will use this to repair some of my trains (if they need repairing) and to mod some of them and change their motors to hyper dashes. This is a big step for me at only 14 it will be a big ask to use the solder without burning myself but a plus side is that I am familiar with all the gears and where they go which is a good thing to know. I know you sometimes need to file the battery terminals to get a good sticky place for the solder but watching tutorials and mod guides it shouldn't be so hard.
Tharazero1 New additions!!! I have recently acquired the battery powered wooden Railway versions of Percy and Lady. I have recently fallen in love with the wooden Railway branch of Thomas and Friends merchandise and it will be my primary bit of merchandise that I'm collecting, not plarail. I will still collect little bits and pieces of plarail/trackmaster but I will just focus my collecting on the wooden Railway. Sorry if I have disappointed a few people with my desicion but a lot of people on here don't collect wooden Railway and I would like to add some info about it if anyone needs it. Like i said I will still collect plarail/trackmaster, just not as much as the wooden Railway. Anyway, back to the purchases, these are the 2002 learning curve versions of the motorised Percy and lady which are the rarer ones. Lady is always a sought after train in whatever but of Thomas merchandising and the motorised lady is rare so that is great that I got her and Percy is the early learning curve version of him, not the later fisher price version which is good. I opened them both and both of their battery terminals were immaculate which was a plus. I put a battery in Percy and he didn't run, only his light turned on and I couldn't give open him up and see what was going on as they both have the triangular shaped security screws in them. I gave him a thorough tap on the table but still nothing, on the other hand lady worked as soon as I put a battery in her and I left her running for a couple of hours to let her get a good run in as she hasent run for over 10 years. I am very happy with these purchases and hope to get more.
Tharazero1 UPDATE!!!!! So I have recently acquired an ULTRA rare (1 of 360) Baby Star Blushing Thomas from Japan. Very happy with this purchase because i managed to get it for a very cheap price compared with it rarity (3rd rarest Thomas Train Ever) The train was listed as "not working" when i bought it, but luckily all it needed to work was a little love tap on the table to get the motor spinning again. I was also scared about it being a fake, but as you can see it is labelled "H11" on the underside of the shell which means it was made in 2011, which is when these were released. I also managed to acquire a very rare Front Hook Splatter (and also a Dodge) which was only available in the rarest Plarail Set, the 2000 Lady and Diesel 10 Chase Set, which itself was only discovered 4 years ago! I also got gifted a BNIB Plarail B20 from the one and only Muddy Poppins! This was a gift to me from him, because I helped him find the ultra rare and elusive GOLDEN THOMAS. Although that was 4 years ago and things have prevented me from receiving his gift, I finally have it and could not be any more happy and thankful to him for gifting this to me. THANKS MUDDY 😃 Overall I am over the moon and ecstatic with my purchases, and I can't wait to add more trains to my collection in the future!!!
Super Glad to hear the the Thomas ran with a little help and a B20 is beautiful isn't it? Great pickups Thara and great new Avatar. 🙂
