Plarail Thomas (1st Edition, 4 wheels) Extremely Super Rare

Hey guys I am selling my used in very good condition Plarail 1992 Thomas, original version with four wheels. This Thomas was only released for less than a year. It is made in Japan, it is truly an important piece in Thomas Plarail.

Has the box included too and the original Annie and Clarabel. All the stickers are intact and none are damaged or peeled off. I can give more photos if wanted. Box has minor damage, small hole in the right window. Thomas is fully functional and is a great runner. I am looking for $300. Postage is on the buyer's expense. I still can't figure out the origins of this particular Thomas and the box. I've seen this box on later releases, and I've seen it in the first run. It's truly a mystery.. The 4 wheel Thomas' have been seen in the mid-late 90s in Europe, and were in a set here in the States for an extremely limited time. But then the Gold Thomas was in this style and box, but also hearing it was given in 1995. What I don't understand is why is this box the first edition (no Britt logo), but what is this and when was it issued:

Basically, the four wheel Thomas was the first ever Plarail Thomas & Friends engine to be released. It says on my box copyright 1992. Note that Annie on the box artwork doesn't even have her name, possibly one reason why they updated Thomas. I believe this Thomas was released for only a very short amount of time in early 1992 - mid 1992, until he was updated with the 2nd version, the picture you have posted is the 2nd edition of the Plarail Thomas. The copyright on my Thomas reads 1992 made in Japan, TOMY 1992.

Also to note, the Golden Thomas has four wheels too. This is most likely because they were made from spare over stock from the 1st edition Thomas. Maybe consumer reaction of Thomas not having six wheels for children made TOMY redesign the engine due to backlash - I can definitely say it was sold and its not a prototype because my box has a sticker from a Japanese toy shop on one end.
