Jacko The Steam Lives On Society has been officially around for roughly 2 and a half years. And over time has rescued and restored Tomy/Plarail engines and rolling stock in the custom shed and depot. This thread will post updates of the depot and special excursion trips. Feel free to ask any questions! I'd love to answer them! Here's a few images to start off. Jacko Thanks Super! It might be a Website or Youtube Channel one day. I don't know yet. But at the moment its just my own depot and shed. I call it official because this is the one yard I have actually been 100% happy with. Previous depots i built didn't really make me happy. And I call it a Society because I felt that just "Steam Lives On" sounded a bit odd for what I do. So I just threw in the Society part and it sounded better.
Jacko I received some new Tomy Plarail engine tires in the mail today! When the weekend comes, its all go to get my old Tomy Henry's driving wheel tires replaced Then it shouldn't be too long before it returns to service after 2 years! His current tires have been working hard for roughly 7 to 8 years! So they have taken on a fair amount of damage and markings. Then when Henry's finished, it will be my old Tomy Gordon's turn for overhaul! Including new tires as well! He hasn't got any at the moment!
Super Nice to hear that some of your trains will be restored and will soon reside on your rails again. Thats one of the great things about these trains as with a little maintenance they can last for a very long time.
Jacko The tire change on my Tomy Henry is complete! Now its all put back together again too! Just a few touch ups need to be done now before testing can happen! Here's the pictures of the operation!
