When I searched for trackmaster locos on Aliexpress, the pictures are the real ones. I once tried to getlt a Plarail Oliver from there back in 2015 but got scammed and never ever got him in the mail (Got the one I have now in 2018 and arrived in less than 3 weeks). Never ever buy ANYTHING from there, the seller will scam you and the engine you got will never come in the mail.

I have bought several things from AliExpress and have had no problems. Well I did have a couple of problems but both were remedied immediately. Sorry to hear you haven't had the same results. Didn't you contact AliExpress to complain about the Seller of Oliver? They have a great Customer Service, at least in my experience.

Did you buy any engines off of aliexpress? I'll try and see if I can get the last version of the old Trackmaster Diesel 10 there

I have purchased trains off Ali express before. The diesel 10 you are looking at is fake as it has light grey wheels. I believe there was a forum on this in the past. But I could be wrong.
They are normally Mattel versions from around the time they switch to the revolution style. These trains were made in China so were probably made for local or Asian sale as opposition to Plarail.
One advantage is there is a money back guarentee through Ali Express if it doesn't turn up. It is painfall and confusing to use, but you get your money back one way or another.

Was this the Diesel 10 you were talking about? I don't know if this version of Diesel 10 is still being made

Also there's a Fearless Freddie with a Flat type drive Unit and Salty and Charlie with a body shell like the Mattel Donald and Douglas.

Yes that is the one. Did you also notice on the picture the colour of his Claw? It is not brown.
They have always had all those versions. They are Mattel Versions from the last design changes. So henry and James with seperate tenders.
Some times they are available with the box, which looks genuine when it arrives.

Also on this one, Freddie is spelt wrong on his side. Freddle.

I found this version of Trackmaster Charlie with a different body shell. I also have this version of Peter Sam but he has been modified with moving siderods.

I've used AliExpress a few times, never had a problem. Hank with motor in loco was the last one, IIRC. In any case you can't generalise as AliExpress is not a single vendor, but a marketplace similar to Amazon, and like Amazon there is built-in buyer protection.

I'm not sure there's any genuine Trackmaster stuff on AliExpress now, it's a while since I last looked, and there were plenty in proper Fisher Price packaging, but not now. This EDWONE brand of presumed clones from Malaysia appears to be prevalent.

I might get a couple for customs I want to do.

Have you compared the prices for an engine at AliExpress to the same Chinese trains being sold on Ebay?

Ali express is cheaper and shipping is offen included. They are the same trains being sold on both sites

On Ali Express you can choose different speeds of shipping, but they also could add extra price to total.
I always use China Post. I am able to track it through my Local post office on the internet, plus they come in 3 weeks or less.

Avoid Speical Line-YW shipping if possible. It probably will never turn up. If it does it will take up to 2 or 3 months. For very little more you can choose China Post Air Mail.
