I really have nothing much to ask except if anyone has a spare motorized Tomy/HiT Toys Rocky lying around. I'll pay any reasonable price or trade anything I have that might be of interest.

The listing is inaccurate.
It's the grey bodied motorized HitToy version.
Mattel (FisherPrice) didn't produce Rocky, and the non-motorized Tomy version has a white body.

Mattel actually did produce Rocky in 2010 as 'Rocky to the Rescue' under the Land, Sea, and Air Rescue series.

It seems to be. Here is a picture of one in it's box. The rear car shows signs of a battery cover.

All these years I've had these and I never realised the sides hinged out to form support jacks!

I think the only non-motorized Rocky is the weird Percy and Rocky Plarail set. And I think I read on here, that there was some kind of screw up that led to Rocky being non-motorized.

Fisher-Price 'Rocky to the Rescue' part number is T5579. You can download the instruction sheet here.

I see no reason to suppose that it's motorised any different to the earlier Tomy version, i.e. the motor raises and lowers the crane jib, it does not drive the crane/wagon assembly along the track, though I'd be happy to be proved wrong. It looks like they just changed the design of the battery wagon. (and the 'Product Description' looks a bit screwy! though it suggests it may have been a Toys 'R Us exclusive).
