Visited Plarail Expo in Osaka this winter. ALFA-X and Nankai rapi:t Clear Colour also in.

ALFA-X and Clear Nankai rapi:t were not in Expo. Believe it or not, ALFA-X was very find to find, even the Plarail Shop wouldn't sell it. So the only place to find it was "Joshin", and I took the last one at a discounted price at 3696 yen over the 4200 yen retail. rapi:t is found in the Plarail Shop but not in Expo, that's weird...

Edit: Found limited quantities of ALFA-X at retail price in Hankyu Departmental Store and in Daimaru Shinsaibashi. Daimaru Umeda did not have stocks.

You must have had to use a shopping cart to haul of these back to your car from the Expo Center.

There are no shopping carts in the Expo, so had to drag baskets down the elevator. Fortunately I own a truck in Osaka, so hauling everything back home is easy.

they are still selling the vintage yellow wheel trains.

Yellow wheel does not mean vintage, some Expo limited trains released less than 5 years ago have yellow and red wheels.

Not the round trip one, however the red cover is compatible with those round trip chassis. For example, Asphalt Island Shuppo has both red and yellow wheels.

Also adding this one in to accompany the EF-15, luckily it was found locally.

Ah, the C11-171 set is one of my favorites! I was going to feature mine on the family Christmas layout this year but somewhere in the chaos, it got over looked.

Like Super mentioned, that DD51 is also a great little locomotive. Heck, even the carded set of three rail cars is really cool!

C11 171 and C12 look really similar so these are one of my favourite SL pairs. The orange DD-51 is one of the most iconic locomotives, so it is really hard to avoid getting one. I'm still looking for a carded A set though.

Looking at those vintage Logos on the box...Is that DD51 an original friction drive metal engine or the updated one? Is it new? I see the carded 'A' set show up often on the Japan Auctions.

That is the 2nd generation friction drive, new condition. Produced from 1968-1977 and most 3rd-5th generation Plarail had these.
