So finally the "unknown" set was delivered to my local post office, the first time it was ever auctioned but it was partly a disappointment and learning experience.

Sure everything inside looks beautiful and no broken parts except a small crack underneath the motor chassis near the motor clip, but the main problem is the slope rails and the signals.

As you can see, the slope rail that came with the set was actually shorter than a standard rail. The signal was made in Thailand. That was the most intriguing thing about the set that none of my team mates pointed out during investigation. Nevertheless the slope rails actually fit in the layout without too much difficulty. The trees were cracked but I didn't care too much. The overhead bars are lighter red compared to the standard products, without a JAPAN mark anywhere.

The curve rails were different because some curve rails have the bumps like the ones found in 1960s rails in the female connectors and the other rail had no bumps like today’s rail. The layout had many possibilities, but this is the layout that was made with every parts included. Because the motor had a pinion gear instead of a rubber friction wheel, it never went uphill well. Add to the fact that all the rails except the slope were the 1st generation slippery rails. I'm not sure if TOMY ever tested their products during that time, but I guess a kid who is playing with this set in this current condition during that time will cry because the train just never went up the slope properly. I'll try changing the rubber of the main wheels but the rubber is the thin black type so it is almost incompatible with the current rubber sold today.
