Victor and Skarloey each use their own whistle, as is usual in my videos. The clock on the town tower has not been repaired, unfortunately. There is something wrong with the hands on that clock, which move but do not show the exact time. But that is not so important for this purpose, is it?

Oh, don’t get me wrong, its not that I don’t think its nice, just in my un-knowledgable Thomas mind, it impresses me when I do know there might be a difference.

No, no, everything is fine. With some of these knockoffs the differences from the originals are clearly visible, with some less so. I like them, because they are really good enough, and as far as I’m concerned a good option compared to the alternative (too expensive second hand originals). But I have Plarail original engines that I particularly care about; for narrow gauge engines: Skarloey, Luke, Rusty… I combine both worlds. 😉

excellent video Mr No, I know this Molly has to be the real thing because I am not aware of any knockoffs for her, at least any knockoffs that look good. 👍

Watching your video reminded me that I have amassed everything I need to modify an R/C Molly into a engine driven one (not tender driven) without remote. I have had everything ready for several years now so I have to make sure I still have it and maybe get busy on it as it shouldn’t take long.

Well, honestly, I really don’t know, Super. All I know is that the Molly I introduced a few months ago is indeed a Plarail Molly. But is this Molly a real TrackMaster Molly - I really doubt it. It came from the same Chinese eBay shop as the other knockoffs, so I have a hard time believing it’s real. It does have the Trackmaster box, instructions, and everything, but I still think it’s just a good fake… And frankly, I don’t care much! 😁

Oh no!!!
I had all the instructions and pictures I needed to modify my R/C Molly into a non-Tender driven model and I can’t find it. Arrrrrgh….I thought I had a file on how to rewire the the Tender using only 2 of the three batteries and how to rewire the the engine…..Drat, Drat & Double Drat!! I am usually good at that sort of thing, crud monkey and now I don’t know how to get them back or where I got them from..

GreatGordonFan That’s exactly the problem, dear GGF. I’m not entirely sure. Some, like this Molly or Snow Clearing Emily, look completely legit (they have the Trackmaster box, instructions, everything), but I’m afraid they’re not. That’s why I always put a note in the video description for such engines “Not a Plarail engine”. But what they are, I can’t be completely sure. Anyway, I don’t buy trains based on whether they’re originals or copies, whether they’re rare or not, etc., but I buy the ones I just like… ☺️🥳

No, Super, you’re not hijacking anything! It was about your Molly, and besides that, I like talking to you; who cares about the thread… I just thought someone can help you with those instructions; you are surely not the only one doing those Molly modifications…!
