Hello all. I have been patiently waiting and today it came. My largest haul from Japan ever.... In size at least. I have turned new leaf and decided that I would like to collect all destinations. They do not need to be new just include the box and be in good shape. I plan on setting as many up on the table as possible so my son can play and enjoy them!

I lucked out and got 3 BNIB TNA trains: Henry, Thomas and Gordon.

Wow, the shipping box must have been huge. Some great sets and loose items in there. I see some talkers and neat express coaches too. Pretty soon you will have to move to accommodate this huge collection. Can't wait to see what you come up with for a layout using all destinations. Thanks for sharing your joy and excitement AJ.

Hello all!

I wanted to share a mix of my Japan and US orders here are w few highlights. The complete update will follow.

I bought a lot off yahoo Japan that had a D&D snowplough set.

Also, it had a lady/diesel chase set with double hook splatter and dodge

Also, it had a talknaction Henry, Oliver with coaches, Gordon and a duck.

The US lot had some Kohl’s exclusives and rc trains all bnib.

From amazon Japan I got the below sets some new others used.

I’m pretty sure all the tomy (plarail?) versions have the different faces (and slightly different battery compartment top pieces). The tomy and hit versions are the ones that have windows (FP is just blank). And I think someone else mentioned that the sticker shapes may be slightly different across the models (sorry I’m blanking on the poster’s name who recently explained that!)?

So is it Fischer Price's duo that has the exact same faces or have I remembered wrong? Did Plarail even release a separate 3 piece Douglas except for this snow plow or am I completely bonkers?

Yes, I think that’s the case. The FP models have the same faces.

Douglas was never released as a seperate 3-piece set in Japan Super, that's why this set goes for the prices it does, because it was the only way for the Japanese to get Douglas.

So this is the only release of Donald and Douglas for Plarail...so does this mean that all the Donald and Douglas pairs made by others like HiT, Trackmaster, Mattel, Fisher Price etc. had the same faces on both?

I’m almost positive the Hit versions have different faces. The Hit versions also have slightly different top pieces (I mean the pieces that come off to expose the battery compartment) from the tomy/plarail versions and different colored tires (white on the Tomy and plarail versions, grey on Hit toys versions). The FP versions have same faces and the top pieces are basically the entire top of the engine (as opposed to the just the boilers coming off). And the FP versions don’t have window stickers on the cabs. And there may be some sticker name differences, but I defer to others on that point.
