tomy rocky restoring

hello I am trying to restore a tomy rocky and I did a few things most of these images were taken around nov 2021 and the last one in 2022

took it apart

face has no eyebrows

now he has them

the parts of the flatbed as it will be cleaned

all his other parts

the crane parts

the connectors

the turning part

now lets clean them this is the toilet

now this is the base of rocky to be cleaned

the bottom

the main part of rocky has some dirt that will be cleaned

these stickers will be replaced with better ones

other side not so bad

dang I cleaned that

now all the parts and a motor

the missing rod was done by 3D printing can't take all the credit brother did mesurements and printed I sanded it a bit and painted it a gray that's now good but will at least be a coat if I get better grey

now all that's left is to rewire him and putting it back all together

Nice work T-Real. I have repaired and sold many Rockys in the past but mostly I acquired a lot to get the small black wheels and replace them with gray to be re-sold. I see you have the version that already came with gray. Which brings up the question 'why do some of the motorized Rocky's have have small black wheels on both the Tender and him while others have small gray wheels on him and Tender? I think the Tomy version only came with gray and the tender has large gray wheels.

well I think because there's the tomy rocky and then there's the hit toy rocky which has dark grey wheels then there's the fisher price re release but yeah there's like 4 different rocky variations

well this thread is now full circle and I used the rocky I was trying to restore. Not anymore I got another rocky that was almost complete but thanks to me having another rocky I was able to take the spring that's inside the part that goes up and down and took two of his legs to complete my replacement.
