generic_truck_69420 Hi Everyone, The Hornby R.253/353 0-4-0 dock shunter (http://www.hornbyguide.com/item_details.asp?itemid=1075) is a locomotive that was released in 1963 (with appearances in sets in 1964,65 and 67 (3 of the sets were Canada exclusive according to Hornby's website)). I have one that is black with an orange cab. Anyway, do these locomotives have a particular basis? Thanks, Generic.

Nigels If you wanted a more realistic type of diesel shunter likely to have been used on a dock this is more likely to be what you're after; Ruston Loco
Super The real ones actually look like toys to me, they are so small. Something I was not aware of until I got into this hobby. Growing up I only knew of big steam engines and big Diesels, nothing electric or small.
Nigels The Ruston's were deliberately built small for small companies, often used in brewery's and other factories. They are typically diesel powered.
