What do you think of the new, windowless, box designs KNDY?

I can see people who support either way. For me, you get less chaffing on the plastic and cardboard, which can get damaged easy during delivery.

But at the same time, people like to see what they are getting when they purchase something.

But I do know when it did have the windows, I would see cardboard damage around the windows area after delivery.

Shipping was a bit high this time around, but at least I was able to get the Plarail 113 (East Japan Railway Shonan Color) for Y5600.

Also got the Brio World Santa Fe Train (36089)

Man that packaging for the 113 is insane, just makes it feel so exclusive like the Silver Plarail Thomas.

I figured I better purchase before the De ![Minimis] ends on August 29th (Starting August 29, 2025, all U.S. orders from Japan will face a 15% import duty, even under $800).

You’ve had it easy for far too long! Now feel the pain that we in the UK and other parts of Europe have suffered for years. Mind you most of my imports from Japan still seem to come through the system without any ‘duty’ being charged. If your order from Amazon.jp goes over a certain value they add the duty on when you place the order and supposedly refund it if none is charged but I’ve never tested this.

I really like the Tobu 8000 series, which Amazon.jp never had on pre-order for some reason, so I only just got it recently as well.

Have you had the Narita set out of the box yet?

Haven’t opened it yet. But plan to later today. The Tobu 8000 was a must get for me. I like the overall look, but with all the white, hopefully prevent it from turning yellow (not sure if today’s Plarails that are white will yellow easily like the plarail of the past).
