I definitely can throw that Mario and Luigi since they already included play kids was a definite airball on their part

Woody buzz Jessie bo peep etc would have been really easy as they could literally just reuse tomica play kids .

Tho I do wonder would it be peach or bowser if they did the last train .

Fingers crossed., I am not a fan of the Bullet trains but I would gladly purchase one of these if it included a Mario and/or Luigi PlaKid

To understand the marketing strategy for these, I suggest that a look at TakaraTomy’s own Disney Tomica section on their website might be instructive. Can I suggest that if we want to keep on discussing this subject, that we use the existing ES-series thread?

(I would just add that these Toy Story figures, Woody and so on, are not considered to be Plakids any more than the Tomica Mickey, Minnie, Snoopy, Winnie-the-Pooh, ~~Elsa~~ Cinderella or the Studio Ghibli ghost are; TakaraTomy do not label them as such, and nor should we.)

Mister No I just think they could’ve put a little bit more effort maybe include play kids that would be really, really cool of them .

Of course the Disney dream railway is long over which is a shame

Elsa? I looked at that page and saw they made Cinderella with her carriage and some “parade floats” with Olaf, Genie, Baymax, Rapunzel and Pascal, etc. but couldn’t find figures of the Arendelle Sisters (or other human Disney characters) in that “second-rate Plakid” style. No image search results either besides redesigned Frozen II versions of the early character-themed vehicles; the Sisters as sports cars, Olaf as a scooter (instead of another car like the first one) and a repaint of the old covered lorry.

The majority of the Plarail stuff are out of stock on Amazon JP again on the US end. It’s more than likely due to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). They basically don’t want those living in the US enjoying Plarail items.

That probably isn’t their primary motivation 🙂, but there’s no doubt that the international marketplace that we’ve enjoyed in the past is becoming increasingly difficult to navigate, and that it’s very frustrating.

Family Mart is a supermarket chain with over 6,000 stores across Japan and 24,000 in S.E.Asia They regularly feature various promotions, including lottery campaigns.

Tickets cost 825 yen each (about 5 USD), there are ten possible prizes, including a plush Crossliner, and towels, storage boxes and food containers, all bearing images of the Family Mart coloured Crossliner, as well as the actual Plarail items, which are:

There don’t appear to be any details of how many of each prize there will be. It starts on July 25th, and may be for one day only, I’m not sure.

Hanshin Electric Railway 5700 series (Jet Silver 5700). The 2017 limited edition that’s been out of print for a few years has re-appeared at Tetsudo Koshien, on about the 14th July. The box is slightly different.
