I have to assume that the Drawbridge will still work without the grey, universal activator track otherwise what would be the sense of having it separate?

There is something close maybe...here is a bridge made for the wooden trains line that I modified to work with Tomy tracks. (thought I had more images but I can't find them right now)

Other observations:

The entire ES series has disappeared from the line-up, apart from the two latest character trains (Tom & Jerry, and Kirby's Dream Land).

The number of KF series wagons and single locomotives is reduced from ten to eight. There are now gaps at KF-03 (most recently the Animal Transport Wagon) and KF-07 (Rail Transport Wagon).

It looks like the E259 series Narita Express Exclusive Connection Set will be a powered 3-car connected to an un-powered 3-car.

Real Class 113 series Suburban Train (JR East · Yokosuka color), June 28th.

J-27 Plakids Railway Crossing Set, June 21st, replacing the existing and apparently identical J-27 Plakids Crossing except it's a different colour, Tetchuan has new clothes, and one Plakid has been laid off.

J-32 Action Town Big Drawbridge, June 21st.

E259 series Narita Express dedicated coupling set, July 12th.

Plarail & Tomica Round and Round Railroad Crossing, July 12th.

Shame that the coupler is the pull-out one, not the lever with gangway door one that they made for the single version of E259.

Strange that in addition to the Hogwarts Express there was no mention of this train either at the Plarail Expo. I wonder if it has anything to do with these being in collaboration with the big movie studio and they didn’t want them shown there or had their own way of advertising them?

My son would STILL love that Jurassic World set!

I wouldn’t mind having one of those “American locomotives”. It reminds me of recent era GE (or whatever they call them now). Norfolk Southern seems to run a number of those in my part of the US and it would be cool to have one to run on the home layout.

Keikyu press release.

Keikyu 1000 Series Stainless Steel Car (Special Connection Specification).

“This product has been extremely popular among the Keikyu original Plarail trains, and has been out of stock for some time, but due to feedback from many customers, we are now releasing it with a special coupling specification. The rear car has a special coupler, which allows it to be coupled with other Keikyu trains that also have a similar special coupler.”

"Prior to general sales, the products will be available for pre-sale at the Keikyu Family Railway Festa 2025 on Sunday, May 18th, and the Yokosuka YY Vehicle Festa 2025 on Saturday, May 31st and Sunday, June 1st. They will also be available for sale later at the Keikyu Goods Online Shop “Otodoke Keikyu”, Keikyu Goods Shop “Otodoke Keikyu” Samezu store, Keikyu Goods Shop “Otodoke Keikyu” Keikyu Museum Shop, 7-Eleven Keikyu ST Store (selected stores), and Keikyu Store (selected stores)."

The original Plarail Keikyu New 1000 Series Stainless Steel Car was released in May 2012.

Keikyu N1000 sets built from 2002 to 2006 have painted aluminium bodies, whereas the sets built from 2007 onward have stainless steel bodies with vinyl wrapping.

S-61 Tobu 8000 Model to be released July 12th 2025

Apart from being a very nice looking train, this release is significant in that S-61 is a new number in the current (‘type 10 box’) series that started in 2014, not as is usually the case a replacement of a previous product with the same number. The last time they did this, with S-59 (Keihan Railway 10000 Series Thomas the Tank Engine), was in October 2015.

(S-61 was however present in the previous series as the E233 series Shonan colour, but that was discontinued in 2015, and re-instated as S-31 in the current series in the same year.)

If you are wondering what happened to S-60, that’s the EF66 with two container cars that’s still on sale in the old style ‘type 9 box’ from the previous series.

This is pretty much identical to the July 2024 Real Class Blue Train Asakaze, except:

The JR logo has gone. There are other differences in the markings details on the two EF60 locomotives, and the ‘drumhead’ on the loco and the sticker on the rear car are branded Fuji rather than Asakaze. The seats in the opening passenger cars are now blue rather than brown.
