holy smokes!!!! don't always get to come and read all the posts. that is a phenomenal collection! if I didn't see it I wouldn't believe it! blows mine away by far! lots of variations and bnib on top of it! very nice.

Technically NO...
My first Talking D-10 was sent to me without payment by a stranger whom I have never met from N.Carolina to Califiornia, to whom I sent monthly payments for what turned out to be WAY too long... That was 2010 and none had been seen at the time...5 years later multiple talking D-10 can be found on eBay from $200.-$600, but 5 years ago I paid through the teeth have one.🙁

Honestly muddy I prefer the plarail variant of bill/ben. I do not own a bill or a ben 🙁 but I'm wondering... Did they make a Tomy
(Like pre Trackmaster) version of Bill and ben? As I was looking at my Tomy skarloey and he had a FLAT drive unit. Is this rare for the pre Trackmaster era? Or was it just a "booster" for Trackmasters all flat drive era?

The Tomy/Plarail version would be my second favorite...I appreciate the effort Hit Toys made and thier attention to details while creating subtle differences w/ far higher quality than FP..
Too bad FP has Thomas now..
Hit really seemed to care and show pride in thier product and maintaining the integrity and longevity of the Thomas image as a character for posterity.

Yes the 2011 buyout marked a decline in the quality of detail and the continuity of the varied appointments and fuctions that the line had continually maintained, and a shift to a less appealing gimmicky product with sloppy production values and an overall disinterest in maintaining the integrity or longevity of any long standing traditions...
Mattel doesn't care about Thomas except for how much they can profit from the licensing rights..
Hit Toys cared and respected the Thomas legacy and the trains they produced were held to a higher standard with PRIDE!!

Isn't this the truth with most everything in this day and age. The first 100 years of the industrial revolution produced quality items produced with pride by both company and employees. Its sad to see the decline in products around the world since 2000 as the trend of company's put the Stockholders #1, There own pockets #2, the customers #3 and employees #4. Where before it was customer satisfaction #1, Employees and management #2 which when put together made the Stockholders money.

Sad and true...
For instance, I did buy the Snowy Spencer and Gordon, only to be disgusted by the baby toy look of the white molded snow shaped plastic glob on top of them!!!
Just cheap, unimaginative, and worst, inconsistent with existing releases of the same theme...
So when I saw the accompanying Muddy Spencer and Gordon with the exact same glob in brown thrown on them I was so disgusted I didn't buy them!!
I know eventually I will have to to maintain our collection but it makes me want to quit collecting these crappy new incarnations all together🙁
