The station is nice, but short, and it’s hard to combine with other stations. It can be combined with the J-30 Action Town PlaKids Ticket Gate Station,

but that’s about it. It doesn’t fit in well with the other classic Plarail stations.

In an ideal world they would introduce a few single-car tram type vehicles to go with the Action Town line. Until then we have the Hobby Train, the ‘Hiei’, and the Tokyo Arakawa tram that might work OK with it.

I don’t really like this Thomas… His face is modeled after illustrations from old books by Rev. Awdry (I have them all and I really appreciate them), but on this model the face doesn’t seem particularly successful. It looks a bit like a creepy clown to me. Just my opinion. Also, in order to achieve a resemblance to the original, Thomas’s sides are covered with stickers, which I also don’t like too much. The stickers could have been avoided on this anniversary edition (including the stickers of Annie and Clarabel’s faces).

Fundamentally, it’s because Belarus and Russia do not respect copyright as agreed by most other countries, and it seems to happen to youtubers a lot. Inconvenient for viewers in those countries, unless they connect using a VPN, which very many Internet users in those countries will do due to the many other restrictions imposed upon them. So totally pointless.

chrisjo Tomy included that little station in this set. Even with the addition of the J-30 Action Town PlaKids Ticket Gate Station, the station is not only way too short, but also looks kind of weird; the extension platform does not reach the track:

A typical sight in any Welsh city centre on a Saturday night, followed of course by the ‘walk of shame’ in the pouring rain at about 5:30 am on Sunday morning. Excellent video, thanks for that.

While I was filming the video, the Plarail girl just fainted (which probably happened due to the many bumps when the tram stopped at the station), so I just couldn’t resist… 😁🍻🎉

Is there a story behind the hook at the back of the tram?

Densha Oh, yes, there is. While I’m aware that the Arakawa line in Tokyo is served by single car units, I liked these Sakura trams so much that I simply had to have at least two, so I installed a hook on one of them so that they could sometimes run in tandem on my large Plarail layout::

I like to travel slowly and enjoy the journey. When I travel by train, I like to look out the window and absorb what I see there. So, understandably, I guess Shinkansen trains wouldn’t be my cup of tea (if I ever travelled on one of them). I prefer slower trains, commuter trains, rail buses, trams and the like. I guess that’s why those are my favourite Plarail models I like to collect the most.

But these Evangelions (Shinkansen 500 Type EVA) are really cool in real life and the Plarail models are great. The intricate design of the “500 TYPE EVA” is beautifully reproduced: “dangerous” look, great colours, what a beautiful train! Plus, I needed them because they have special “Plarail OK chassis” with lights, which means they can be put on other Plarail models that don’t have lights. Certain Plarail Real Class trains with lights look especially good. In fact, the lighting on, say, the Plarail Suburban Train Series 113 looks excellent, maybe even better than on these Shinkansens, because in addition to the headlights, it also illuminates the entire driver’s cabin…

I’m not sure why they didn’t equip the Plarail Real Class series with lights, but with this “OK chassis” I borrowed from the shinkansen they look great. Video coming soon.

Mr No…what was the purpose of the connection between the two carriages? Was it because of the way the yellow circular stairs are facing or something else?

Well, Flora was originally supposed to have just one tramcar, according to the story, but for the sake of the model, it was sold in 3 main variants: engine solo, engine + little green caboose, and engine + tramcar + little yellow caboose. In this last variant, the tramcar steps were facing forward, which always seemed a bit strange to me. So I added another tramcar and now everything is nicely symmetrical. 😁

I agree with all the steps on one side seems odd unless every station they stop at’s platform is always on that side. It is especially noticeable when you run four of the carriages like I do.
