Is it just me or does Percy look to be a darker shade of green, or maybe it just looks darker next to all the brown chocolate?

A darker shade of green? I have to admit I don’t see it… But it bothers me that both the green and brown are different on the sticker (the part around number 6) than the green and brown on the rest of the locomotive. Why is that part a sticker at all? Couldn’t it have been done in paint?

Oh no, Super, only the ones I really, really like! And there are, in fact, quite a few of them! 😁 Along with my favorites (Disneysea Electric Railway), this Western River train is one of the most beautiful. It would be nice if they released (some re-released) all the Western River locomotives. Along with № 20 (“Mississippi”, the one with Donald & the nephews), all the others named after rivers are still operational at Disneysea Tokyo: № 25 (“Rio Grande”), № 28 (“Missouri”) and № 53 (“Colorado”). In fact, Takara Tomy is the sponsor of this attraction. Just imagine a set of these four Western River trains… (I know I have to wake up). 😊

This is one of the better Disney Western Steamer mostly because the side Cab windows are not just a flat sticker. Love the Sheriffs badge on the Smoke Box Door and the Cab roof simulating Woody’s cowboy hat. The middle wheel stands out so high and looks weird probably more noticeable due to the contrast of color I think. The action wagons with the moving characters are really cool. All in all, a very nice set and nice video Mr No with the Hoe Down music.

I completely agree with everything you said, Super. This locomotive is unlike any other Plarail Disney steam locomotive and, if I may add, reminds me (with certain specifics) in terms of shape of this new Back to the Future engine…

Watching the video and looking at that rear container car with the Aliens I immediately thought this train could add these bobbing aliens at the end…especially since they wiggle and bob and would add to the already action of the Ham and Slinky Dog cars…

We have discussed it here somewhere before, but I have to say it again… The old Plarail model of Edward (which can be seen right at the beginning of the video) was a much better representation of this engine. The new 2018 model is somehow strange, starting from Edward’s face, which now looks confused and too young (Edward is an old engine!), to the irregular arrangement of the front wheels: the four small wheels have disappeared and have been replaced by two rather strangely placed fake ones. Thus, Edward has turned into a different engine and is now a far cry from the original.

Totally agree with the original being the best and its features made him something special. The remake just looks no different than all the other model engines. I do have a question… does the remake have real front Cab windows and, I can’t remember, does the original?

Super I just checked, Super: both the old and new Plarail Edward have a sticker as the front cab window. But hey, at least they have some “window”; the new James and Gordon have nothing…

I notice that Rocket tracks very well for a Tender, Push, engine. I wonder if its due to the very large front wheels and very short wheel base.
