That was quite the visit and video from Suzukawa, might be the longest I have seen. There it is….the golden painted Thomas, it is real. They also showed the Hogwarts Express set and the yet to be released Back to the Future III in the flesh. Sure wish they had it also running on a short loop of track like that gold Thomas was. Hmmmm…wonder if the reason they didn’t have a true demo of both the Hogwarts and Back to the Future was because they are pushers and they didn’t want to show its skewed rolling or derailments…hmmmm

Oh…thats right. Now that you mention it….I remember this as I was searching for black siderods to use for customs and at that time this was the only one I could come up with. However, because these were for a Western Steamer and the fact that it has a bend, they were a tad too short to use on normal Plarail steam engines. 🙁

HanoibusGamer my jaw dropped . I barely buy anything from plarail these days but I will be getting that .
I am shocked they did the 100 series over the 0 series but very glad they chose the 100 series . The double-decker carriages. And everything look amazing a very good drop of products overall.

Shinkansen 100 Series was receiving a severe lack of attention in Plarail, considering there were probably no release of the train in any shape or form for the last 10 years, unlike 0 series and 300 series which had new releases within the last 4-5 years.
And, unlike that Advance model which had 4 cars but single-decker only, this time we have a single-decker and a double-decker! The double-decker can be separated at each level btw, with the top deck having two versions to accomodate going under the standard girders.

That Track Pack, Dream Rail Kit will be perfect for the new builder for sure and that Real Class 100 Series Shinkansen looks interesting. I can’t remember but is this the first Real Class release that has working headlights?

Yep! This Shinkansen 100 Series is the first, and the price is still the same at 7,700 yen, so this is a great deal!

My theory: There will be a Plarail Real Class Shinkansen 200 series (H sets) in the future, as it’s also similar to 100 series, plus a few modifications to accomodate Eastern Japan snowy weather.
AND/OR another 100 Series, but with the “fresh green” Kodama livery instead.
Plarail Real Class like to release similar trains with different liveries (Limited Express Series 185 - 3 trains, Limited Express Series 485 - 3 trains, Commuter Train Series 201 - 3 trains, etc.) so it’s possible Shinkansen 100 series would also be given this treatment, given those variants.
