Either that or you are a mind-reader. I have printed a pair of toothless stop rails but I have not discussed them here yet.

It should be noted that a certain improvement has been achieved with the gray Real Class stop rail, which has teeth only partially. This contributes to the train stopping more smoothly. It is not perfect, but it still does its job visibly better.

Do you think thats why the lift area is so short on those Real Class stop and goes to minimize the abruptness? Haven’t they also changed the regular Stop and Goes from an 8″ rail to half rail length and no longer make the full 8″ or do I have that wrong?

When the middle section of the gray Real Class rail is raised, you can see that the first ⅔ of the rail has no teeth, they only start at the 3rd third of the raised middle section of that rail. This causes the engine to slide a little on the untoothed section first, which probably contributes to a smoother stop.

It is interesting to see Plarail redesigning this as there must have been a lot of complaints or suggestions. Looking at one of mine, I notice that the smooth section actually has a slight incline and somewhat lowers with the weight of the engine at the beginning of the incline which also helps with a “smoother slide” before the teeth. The only downside of all this redesign is that it makes the rail one directional.

Always like to see something new and I think that ‘Speed Arrow’ Bullet train is new right? And add to that the free Speed Arrow intermediate car hauler. Not fond of the stickered windows. Front view of an engineer is different but wonder if he is a sticker too.

Super This is a really good idea. It will be possible to fit longer sections of track on an elevation with curves, without using the classic J-14 piers. But I can already see the problem. They always forget about us who like double track layouts. I assume that this element will only be produced in normal (inner) radius, so it will not be possible to fit a double track on an elevation with these elements, because I don’t believe that it will be possible to add an outer curved rail to a curve of that radius and have it look nice…

The even worse news is that it will “replace” the R-28 Double-track Turnout Rail. Does this mean they are really going to stop making that double track switch or are they planning something new? The current R-28 is a very useful element for double-track layouts and can hardly be replaced in a quality way on such a layout.

Mister No The even worse news is that it will “replace” the R-28 Double-track Turnout Rail.

I guess it’s a case of get them while you still can. I think I have enough!

Is this the first time n a while that we get a new rail piece released as both in a train set and as a standalone rail with the R-28 (different color as always)?
Also, another new curve flat bridge rail piece in red.
