MrKirby48 Ah ok, but that still doesn’t make any sense that PLARAIL, which is not celebrating its own 80th Anniversary, would release a golden Thomas for his ruby anniversary.
I’m starting to think that Super may have sniffed this one out early.

I finally found this. It shows both the sign on the blue wall and the golden Thomas train on the circle line, both matching the images in the original X post above (note for example the rails in the display layout secured by shiny screws). It was taken at the current event at Sunshine City by an ordinary paying visitor:

Thanks Master Researcher, I have been waiting for something else than the same two pictures making its rounds around the Internet. I am still not convinced fully until I see something from Plarail, a box or release date and price. That sign is awfully small and high on the wall to be noticed especially since that layout doesn’t show that train only. Something really seems off to me but I have been wrong before but I would think this would have generated much more talk, articles and videos than what it has.

There are now a number of short videos from the event to choose from, but almost every one just shows a small kid with its mother playing with soft and bouncy AEG toys. I doubt many Plarail fans will have attended, but I too am surprised by the apparent silence from the Japanese Thomas community.

I seriously doubt we’ll see Plarail release anymore new characters since the Thomas range has cut so many corners recently. Almost everything they’ve released this year has reused existing molds/pieces, with the exception of the RWS Thomas’s face, which is a very small piece.
The only new toolings we’ve gotten from Plarail Thomas have been for the All Engines Go toys, and even then those use a standardized chassis

You need to read @Shiokaze_Do’s responses to the comments below to get a fuller picture. Only accepting payment by cash is a fairly well-known way to deter anyone under about 50 these days, but there are also some stranger ideas being floated about there! I don’t doubt that sales are declining and prices are increasing generally though, as with pretty much everything at the moment.

Thomas is still massive in Japan with the brand growing in popularity .
If anything I think they have something against the line they had nothing positive to say .
I think we will see something new .
They will think of some stupid repaint to keep the line going . Right now we are in a dark age but I can see the golden light at the end of the tunnel as just compare the start of this dark age to now . As tar James is way cooler then Buzz buzz James

Gold Thomas is not on Tomys website .
We just got the new item for October on the website and yet gold Thomas has not been added .
This is concerning .

Awesometrain77 There is only one Plarail item listed at the Mall for October so far, and that only appeared yesterday. There will probably be more to come. (I’m not saying it’ll be the Gold Thomas you’re hoping for though!)

I was hoping it would have one but it’s fine
Gold Thomas seems to be a October release and if I were to guess I’d say this is likely the final release of the year for the Thomas line but who knows we could see something for November or December.

I don’t want to say this but I don’t think us fans in the US won’t be able to buy the Plarail Gold Thomas because of new Tariffs.
